Gloria Church - Byculla

 Gloria Church or Our Lady of Glory Church is built in 1911-13 on one of the oldest Roman Catholic church sites in Mumbai; its predecessor was built by the Portuguese Franciscans in 1632. The church is situated in byculla, Mumbai.




The heritage Gloria Church at Byculla, Mumbai re-open for the visitors again on October 28, 2018. It was shut for extensive renovation and painting work. The original Gloria Church, Nossa Senhora da Glória, was built in 1632 by the Portuguese Franciscans. The old church was demolished in 1911 and the present one, built at Byculla.

The Gloria Church Heritage  Restoration project has achieved its objectives, marked by the successful completion of all restoration efforts resulting in the rejuvenation of aged structures to their original splendor. 

The restoration process encompassed meticulous refurbishment techniques, ensuring that every facet of the historic edifice received due attention. Employing a combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern restoration practices, the project effectively revitalized the church's architectural integrity while preserving its heritage value. 

The comprehensive restoration efforts addressed structural repairs, aesthetic enhancements, and preservation measures, culminating in a thorough transformation of the aging infrastructure into a renewed testament to historical significance.

Gloria Church Heritage Restoration has culminated in a triumph of preservation and revitalization, breathing new life into the venerable structure.
